The town of McAdenville is located on the South Fork River and is the headquarters of Pharr Yarns. The company has operated a yarn
manufacturing plant in the town for many years and is the town's largest employer. The quiet little town of McAdenville comes alive in spectacular fashion each year as Christmas draws near. Almost overnight, the small textile town is transformed into Christmas Tow
n, USA, with lights strung throughout the town and on every home. This Christmas tradition began in the 1950's when the McAdenville Men's Club decorated trees around the town's lake at the McAdenville Community Center. It created a stir of holiday spirit among the town, and year after year, the lights grew. Today, more than 375 trees are decorated by the town, and hundreds of homeowners participate to make this a spectacular light show display! Lines of traffic 30-45 minutes or longer are common during the holiday season, and most spectators choose to park and walk. The dates and hours each year for light display are December 1st - 26th: Monday-Friday 5:30 - 9:30pm, and Saturday - Sunday 5:30 - 11:00pm. The lights are on timers and turn on and off at these exact times.
